Meet Your Counselor

Hi, I'm Isabelle Bauman. I received my PhD in Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my master’s in counseling from Missouri State University. I taught Communications at Missouri State University for 28 years, specializing in mental health communication for 19 of those years, before retiring in August of 2025. I published a book titled Interpersonal Communication and Mental Health Disorders with Cognella Publishing in 2025.

Since retiring, I've started a counseling practice where I see individuals and couples dealing with a variety of issues including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and communication and relationship problems. I'm currently a PLPC working towards my LPC and supervised by Carl Dawson, MS, LPC, License #000137. Along with my counseling practice I am involved with Missouri’s Substance Abuse Traffic Offenders Program (SATOP). In my spare time, I enjoy bird watching, beading, embroidery, and reading steampunk and cozy murder mysteries.
